Kev Wright

Resident dj at Edinburgh's seminal tech-trance night 'Sublime' for 7 years, and now into his 5th year at Pivo Cafe, Kev's fusion of tribal and tech grooves has led to him becoming one of the respected figures at the forefront of the underground scene in Scotland.

Kev's dj career began in 1989 after building up a considerable hip hop record collection from the late eighties.Inspired by the British rave scene in 1990,he spent the next few years spinning early breakbeat and harder edged house music at small clubs and parties in and around Edinburgh, until securing his residency at Sublime in June 95. He now plays regularily across Scotland, and has recently headlined clubs and festivals in Turkey (Istanbul),Australia (Melbourne/Sydney) Greece (Athens),Spain (Alicante) and Ireland (Belfast).

Since 1993, his radio shows and guest mixes on Forth 1, Kiss FM, Fresh Air, BBC Radio Scotland, Clyde and Dex FM (Sydney) have given him the opportunity to push his innovative sound to an even wider audience.Having played over 30 guest mixes on East/Central Scotlands premier station Forth 1 between 1993-95, he eventually moved on to present his own Saturday night show on Forth throughout 2002. The 'Sublime Show' also ran on local Edinburgh station 'Fresh Air' for 5 years.

Kev's debut release was a collaboration with Nu Idol for Well Wicked Records in 1999. He is now signed to Saeed and Palash's Addictive records.'Getting Closer',his debut release on Addictive, was released in June 2003.
